Wellness Starts with the Feet

  Our feet are the foundation to our bodies. So it makes good sense then that our overall physical and mental wellness, a term heard more and more lately, needs to start there. 

The foot contains 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles.   And boy do they take a beating.  The average person walks about 10,000 steps a day. During a lifetime it is thought that a person has walked enough steps top have traveled around the planet more than 4 times.

Your feet also mirror your general health. Conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, nerve and circulatory disorders can show their initial symptoms in the feet – so foot ailments can be your first sign of more serious medical problems.

Take an extra minute today and consider your feet.  Make sure you are wearing the proper shoes for your specific needs, are using orthotics if necessary and putting comfort once in a while ahead of fashion.  Your feet will thank you for it.
