Back at Work…and Back on Your Feet

Happy New Year. Hopefully the holidays gave you a chance to take a few days off from work to relax and rejuvenate. While I was kicking up my feet up, I read an article about nurses who could use a chance to relax as well. Some industry studies have indicated that nurses spend well over 75% of their working day standing. As a result, surveys indicate that up to 25% of nurses now suffer from some form of varicose veins in their legs, directly related to the demands of their job. Yikes!

Standing on your feet all day can create a tremendous strain on your legs and feet, resulting in general fatigue and fluid accumulation…and bring about varicose veins. Whether you are a nurse, teacher, police officer or have any number of careers that keep you on your feet, you really need to consider the health effects of your job.

Compression socks can surely help. And with the variety of colors and styles including compression dress socks, there is no need to go without…especially while at work.
